R. Keith McCormick, DC was our guest back in 2013 and returned to discuss his book, The Whole-Body Approach to Osteoporosis: How to Improve Bone Strength and Reduce Your Fracture Risk and to bust some myths about osteoporosis and what can be done to prevent it and to treat it without giving up the activities you enjoy or having to take medication for life. One cause of osteoporosis, he told us, is chronic inflammation, which can also cause diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, and more! Therefore, taking steps to decrease inflammation, including testing for sensitivities, as well as modifying our diet and taking some supplements, can lead to a healthier life all-around. In his book, he explains the various blood tests that can aid in finding the cause of one’s bone loss or to find markers that can lead to better prevention for each individual, as well as dietary changes, such as decreased red meat, sugar, and acidic food intake. It’s not all about calcium. Dr. McCormick is also available for consultations long-distance, as well as in his Massachusetts office. Find out more about Dr. McCormick, the services he offers, and his book at: McCormickDC.com. Dr. McCormick also sells supplements for better bone health at: OsteoNaturals.com. You can also call his office for an appointment at: 413-253-9777.
Through his own experience with severe osteoporosis, Dr. McCormick, a practicing Chiropractic Physician, realized that the supplement industry lacked products that could provide therapeutic levels of effective ingredients to target bone health. Stemming from the need to improve the strength and density of his own skeleton, grew a passion to help others improve their bone density. With a background in functional medicine, a mind for research, and a vision that there needed to be a comprehensive nutritional approach to osteoporosis available for society, Dr. McCormick sought to develop a no nonsense, innovative line of superior nutrition formulations focused on bone health, with the whole body in mind.
