Missed the show? It was awesome, as usual, and you can hear it all right here!
This was a special program. Jennifer Young, PATH Registered Therapist, Licensed Physical Therapist, and Level II Therapist with the American Hippotherapy Association, has been practicing equine assisted physical therapy since 2004. She is the owner of Children’s Therapy Services and the Founder of The Red Arena, a horse ranch specializing in equine therapy with children who have autism, as well as physical disabilities, in addition to adults with disabilities. The Red Arena horse ranch, located in Dripping Springs is a incredible place with magical healing surroundings. Jennifer discussed the emotional, social, occupational, and physical benefits of equine therapy as a mode of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychotherapy.
In addition, Jennifer told us that The Red Arena is holding it’s 8th annual benefit on June 1 and 2, The Red Arena Roundup, at The Dripping Springs Ranch Park where the public can come free of charge and take part of the many events, including horse shows, many activities for children, wine and beer tasting for adults, a silent auction, and more. The Red Arena relies on benefit donations in order to give partial and full scholarships to their therapy programs, so that children and adults who use their services are not put into a financial bind.
The Red Arena also welcomes volunteers and no experience with horses is required!
