Missed the show?  You can hear the podcast at the end of this post.

I was joined in the studio by Tai Chi instructor and founder of Tai Chi Fitness and Renewal, Wayne Key!  Wayne spoke about Tai Chi for health and wellness at all ages, for growing older healthfully, and for various health issues, including arthritis and diabetes.  As suggested by Wayne, went to the website for the National Institute of Health and put in a search for Tai Chi.  What I found was scientific study after scientific study showing the benefits of Tai Chi for medical issues from heart failure to arthritis.  Check it out:  http://nccam.nih.gov/health/taichi.

With over 26 years of continuous training and degrees in both Psychology and Philosophy, Wayne specializes in Tai Chi based fitness and renewal.   He is a certified instructor of Tai Chi for Arthritis as well as of Tai Chi for Diabetes.  Wayne gives classes all over Austin, so that you don’t have to fight traffic to get to him.  You can look for a class taught by Wayne in your part of town.  Look for classes, contact Wayne, and read his blog about Tai Chi by going to:  http://taichifitness.info/.  You can also reach Wayne by phone:  512-590- 3668.

AND…I completed the series about Epilepsy, in honor of Epilepsy Awareness Month.  Tonight:  What to do if you witness someone having a gran mal seizure.  1.  Stay calm.  2.  Be sure to call 911.  3.  Do not attempt to move the person.  4.  Do not leave the person alone.  5.  Look for a medical bracelet for contact information and to verify that this person has epilepsy.  6.  Prevent injury to the person by moving hard objects out of the way and gently placing a pillow or something soft beneath their head.  7.  Do not hold the person down.  8.  Do NOT put anything in the person’s mouth.  9.  Do not give the person water, pills, or food until they are fully alert.  10.  Be sensitive and supportive when the person regains consciousness.

Getting ready for tonight’s show.
