If you missed tonight’s show, you can catch it on podcast below. It was a very informative show!
Linda Hall, of The American Association for Wartime Veterans, joined me to talk about the veterans benefit of Aid & Attendance. You can get FREE help with filling out this complicated application, so that you can be sure that you are not denied for this benefit if you fit all of the necessary criteria. The American Association for Wartime Veterans does not charge to help with the process of filling out the application or with helping you make sure that everything necessary is in place to qualify. They are located in 28 states around the U.S. This benefit is available to a veteran who has served on active duty for 90 days or more, has been on active duty for at least one day during wartime, who is unable to drive, who requires assistance with at least 2 activities of daily living, and who satisfies the income “means” test. The means test can be satisfied in various ways so that some guidance from Linda, or professionals like her, would be beneficial. This benefit is also available to the spouse of a wartime veteran. You can find out more by going to: http://www.usawarvet.org/ OR by calling: 1-800-850-5504. In Central Texas, you can call: 512-619-1138.
Master Sergeant Will Williams also joined me in the studio. He has done over 5000 community service hours for various organizations helping veterans, children, seniors, and abused women. He has received the Service to Mankind Award and is on the Board of Directors for Heroes Night Out. MSG Williams informed us about the various organizations and resources in the community. Heroes Night Out is located in Cedar Park, TX and is open weekdays from 9am to 4pm. You can find out more about this great resource center for veterans by going to: http://heroesnightout.org/.
