Lucinda AKA Sandy Feet called in from South Padre Island, Texas to let us know about this year’s Sandcastle Days on beautiful South Padre Island.  It starts this week, with 10 champion sand sculptors from around the world competing in the Master contest on Wednesday or Thursday, and then you can sign up to compete Amateur contest on Saturday.  There will be FREE sandcastle lessons on Saturday morning at 8:30, to be in time to enter the contest, and more free lessons on Sunday at 10am.  There will be live music and lots of food, as well as crafts to buy, and a “Trashion show” with costumes made of Trash – the theme this year is Star Wars – on Saturday, October 6 at 4pm.  All of this will be at Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill, across from the Convention Center.  Then, celebrate with the winners at the Sandcastler’s Ball at Tequila Sunset, Saturday at 7pm.  Find out more at:  SandcastleDays.com and check out their Facebook page.
