We made it through our first 2-hour show on Blog Talk Radio, broadcast LIVE on-location at the Casa Mariposa Event Venue and Guesthouse on South Padre Island!
Yes, we had some bumps in road along the way, running all new technology on our own (first time away from a radio station studio) and getting used to time delays (sorry for sometimes talking over my guests…darn time delay!). But, all in all, it went very well, considering. And the information shared by all of the guests was extremely interesting and valuable…and definitely worth listening to!!
If you missed the show, you can hear the podcast right here:
Here is what you missed from tonight’s show:
Ravi Singh, of the nationally known and quite prolific (with numerous yoga DVD’s for practicing yoga at home) Kundalini Yoga duo, Ravi Singh and Ana Brett (RaviAna.com), joined me from along their travels teaching seminars and instructing yoga teachers around the country. Ravi spoke about what Kundalini Yoga is and it’s benefits for healthy aging. Ravi told us that the sequences (or “kriyas”) in each of their DVD’s are presented in the same order as they have been taught for thousands of years, keeping all of the benefits. Kundalini energy, said Ravi, is our life force and doing Kundalini yoga brings the energy in that we expend throughout the day, making it possible to live each day without growing older! Ravi and Ana’s latest DVD is called “Happy Hormones” because Kundalini yoga is very powerful for the balancing hormones. During this interview, Ravi taught several techniques that you can try at home in order to reduce stress and to energize, as well as to make it easier to get out of bed in the morning! So, be sure to listen to the interview for all of his great tips!! Ravi and Ana are giving seminars throughout the country, with their next stop being Tulsa, Oklahoma. To find out where they are teaching a seminar near you, to sign up for their monthly newsletter full of all sorts of tips, and to find out when their new book will be released, go to: http://raviana.com.
P.S. Ravi told us that he and Ana plan to be teaching in Austin, TX some time in 2014!!! Will keep you posted!!
Laura Gelezunas came back to report in from the retirement paradise south of the border, Puerto Vallarta, MX! She let us know that things are really hopping right now for the American retirees, with all sorts of activities and volunteer opportunities. Jeff George told us about the beautiful venue where we were broadcasting from, the Casa Mariposa Event Venue and Guesthouse on South Padre Island. Casa Mariposa, only a few blocks from the beach, is available for large parties and weddings, as well as small, intimate, events. And the guest house is a beautiful Mexican-style hacienda, lodging up to 8 adults, with it’s own small and exotic courtyard. Sherrie Gomez and her team can arrange the whole event for you, including the minister, as Jeff is ordained to perform the wedding ceremony, if you desire. You can find out more by going to: http://www.casamariposaspi.com.
Jeff also heads the Sea Turtle Rescue on South Padre Island. In June, July, and August, you can witness the release of the newly hatched sea turtles into the wild. Year-round, you can visit the sea turtle hospital, where the injured or ill sea turtles are rehabilitating. If you’re planning a visit to SPI in the summer months, you might want to check this out. For a schedule of the sea turtle release and more information, go to: http://www.seaturtleinc.org.
